Such an amazing experience with these guys in Meo Vac ... Walked into the restaurant, of which I was the only customer, and instead of ordering something, they simply invited me to have dinner with them (owners of course having dinner when I walked in) - then it got busy, they catered towards the others, and I played with the kids a bit, all while the father kept forcing rice wine down my throat, he was so confused when I tried to tell him I wanted water or tea ... Then, I ordered Bahn Cuon for dessert (rice cake) which was a terrible rice crepe, and then she only charged me like 20k Dong (less than a dollar). I ate sooo much, most others try to over charge, amazing people. Not to mention that my feast included crickets, silk worms, wasps, and a few other insects I have no idea what they were. Definitely a first for me. And the two little ones were getting picked on by a couple local boys, so I hung out with them and made them laugh, and I think they used my presence to rub it in the boys faces. Nonetheless really cultural night, never saw one westerner for a couple days in the northern provinces, truly amazing part of Vietnam, very untouched ...
