Sue texted me this morning that Amanda has had her last piece of life support removed. She hadnt used her feeding tube in a couple of months so they removed it. All food and meds are taken through her mouth now. She can chew and swallow capably but liquids are honey thickened so it doesnt go to her lungs. The feeding tube was put in at the hospital in Richmond VA. in June of 2011 the day after her strokes. She continues to improve her speech and coordination of her right side. She can watch TV or read magazines and books on her DYNAVOX computer. She can control all of that. She has SOME strength and movement in her left side but it is limited. I will be back up there DEC 2 3 4 to see her. That is also when Charli and her boyfriend Chris and I are going to see Jimmy Buffett at the Excel Center. She may never want to see Dave Matthews again. FINS UP!!!!!
