Summer 2014 is winding down (well, okay, over) and so is Artisan on Main, with a close date of October 11. This will give all Artisans a chance to rest a bit, then gear up for our second Christmas Show, coming in November! However someone like Mary Shumate, one of our Artisans produces wonderful products, practical for everyday use all year around, so she might be quite busy! Profiling Mary is easy, shes done some amazing things, like raise a family of eight! Can you say multitask? She started pottery in the seventies, but can be forgiven for not taking it seriously until those same eight children gave her a pottery wheel in 1995, and basically said, Its time Mom. Starting at a class in Belfast Community School, to Holland College to Kingston Ontario, Mary has certainly learned her craft, and we are pretty pleased to have her join our merry band. The pieces are unique, well-priced, outstanding quality, and make a terrific gift or everyday practical use.
