Summer OBlack asked me to do this, so heres my narrative on how I ended up here and what Im hoping to do. I grew up dancing tap, jazz, and ballet but I was over weight or obese my while childhood and teen years. I got into lifting weights, wrestling, boxing, and rugby as a teen. I developed some nasty eating habits while wrestling and experienced my only time under 200# while cutting weight. I got injured, had a major shoulder surgery, stopped wrestling, stopped moving and got very depressed. I had my daughter at 295# @ 25 y/o. Since then Ive been moving again. I went back to lifting, got into crossfit, kept getting hurt but lost a lot of weight (combined with paleo), did just oly lifting durin this last year. I started law school and am raising my daughter on my own. I dealt with the stress poorly and ate all the food in sight. I saw an Ido video about nine months ago and really started reading his stuff about two months ago. I did the hanging challenge and got back to paleo. My hang time went from 15 seconds to about 40. I traversed some money bars the other day that I couldnt even switch bars on at the beginning. I need to lose weight to be stronger for my size. I have to find a practice that is sustainable with school, work, and the kiddo. Ido posted once about whether youre attracted to something or whether you actually pursue it. Im teetering on that edge and this group will hopefully help me stick with it. Its just my ego and stress response thats in the way. I cant tag anyone in this but Ive been enjoying everyones posts. This is long but Summer asked for it. Shes so inspirational, I decided to comply ;)
