Summer Viking Coastal Marathon completed in 5:23:17. As the name suggests, a coastal run which consisted of 4 times out/back between Birchington and Reculvers Tower. Its a nice flat, tarmac course but I suffered enormously with a very runny tummy before I even left home. :-( Very much reliant on good old Imodium to get me through today. The heat didnt help either, even with the lovely 7am start. (my kind of race start!) :-) There was a brief interlude 3 hours in where we had gale force winds and driving rain, then it warmed up again, booo! Mother Nature was too kind to me yesterday so I wont complain too much about today....just in case Shes listening. Toilet issues aside, this was a lovely marathon, friendly, great medal, excellent fuel station (although I didnt risk more than a savoury cracker whilst running with my very iffy stomach), brill goody bag, cake, cake then more cake afterwards with lots of support from my fellow out and backers. Thank you to Run Directors Traviss, Rachel and your helpers today. Well done everyone, see you all soon. Double whammies? Same time, same place tomorrow. Love xxx
