Summer cooler made at home - last night, start boiling a lot of water about a litre per person at home, throw in green or black tea leaves to taste, take some cinnamon and dried dates and pound them and add to the boiling mixture, let the whole concoction boil for a few minutes till everything is mush at the bottom, then let it cool overnight, in the morning, strain and pour into smaller bartans, stick them into freezer till frozen solid, add lemon juice and mint on top, add more water, let it stand, by then it should be noon and afternoon, drink. Whats left in the evening, add rum, add chopped fresh fruit like mango, pineapple, put crushed ice in glass, add above mixture to glass of crushed ice, drink some more. Eventually you will get your quantities right and be wise too. The mush left at the bottom is brilliant for potted plants. Dont add sewage milk or industrial sugar. Repeat every night. Thats one way to survive. This was called Paanch, fore-runner to punch and base for mojito.
