We have both pasture-raised Berkshire pork and our pampered pigs available from batches to be killed within the next week, with finished pork (after curing and smoking) ready to pick up the weekend of July 29. Berkshire pigs are an heirloom breed noted for its long waist, resulting in about 10% more bacon than other breeds of pigs. Our Berkshires are raised outdoors on pasture and forest their whole lives, grazing on grass, foraging for wild roots, fruits, and herbs, enjoying #2 pears year-round from a nearby fruit processor, and supplemented with a grain ration. Berkshires are available with skin, tails and trotters, and head. These are $5.75/lb hanging weight, including all processing costs. A typical half Berkshire weighs about 100-120 pounds and yields about 75% finished meat-to-hanging weight.
