Sunday. Amen and amen. The legacy of apartheid is still visible around churches. Churches build before people were dispossessed under the group areas act. This is the day that congregants return to the neighbourhoods to pray and worship. This is also the time when, while worshippers pray they are preyed on by the racists in their previous neighbourhoods. Parking is the site of resistance. It reminds the beneficiaries of apartheid about the apartheid crimes. So the battles at churches are fought around the site of parking. The soldiers in this battles are traffic cops who give te congregants a reminder they are not welcome their. They draw their pink ticket books and shoot their fiery pink arrows at the unsuspecting worshippers under traffic laws. A reminder of who is boss in neighbourhoods.
