Johnson Message: The Year to Enlarge or Year of Enlargement (Continued from Wednesday, Dec. 31 2014) Scripture: 1 Chron. 4: 9, 10 (9 And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow. 10 And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.) Had opportunity on last year to a lot of things, things left undone and more correction, left undone can’t do. Year is gone. And God granted him that which he requested. You have to make it known, what you want, in order to get something or get it done. You have to ask, seek, and/or knock. Thank God for His answer. Look at Jabez, he more honorable than his brothers. Don’t say that they bad, but someone in family more honor. His mother call him, Jabez – means pain, because of suffering. As walk down aisle, ya’ll there comes Pain. Lot [of people] have names don’t know what it means. What if you had been tag with the name Pain. Born him in sorrow, remind me of my pain. Went through much, went through while pregnant. [Maybe] dad beat her, don’t know. No matter what name tagged with or come through. One thing you can do, in Jabez’s pain, call on God of Israel and God of Jerusalem. Oh, if bless me indeed and coast enlarged, be able to share Your blessing, that Your hand might be with me. We [I] need the hand of Lord with us [me]. No, I want to set there and look, can’t go together because we have different concept and you wouldest keep me from evil. Remember ask, seek, when knocking need to have right attitude. Example: ask who it is, not open – who don’t, but good they if you can… Know that voice, why, because we communicate – ought to know you His daughter or son. Know his voice. Not saying that God doesn’t already know, [He will know if you are His]. Have you been tagged with name to define how you act, mark you as different like Pain. Don’t want to deal with it too much. What were you called? ... If you have been tagged with this type of name, the name can be changed. Like Saul, persecutor. God had to change his identity and name. Changed from Saul to Paul because hear he persecutor of God. Jabez, better man than his brothers - have you ever seen mom get upset with father; take it out on the children. Not saying anyone here. Say a painful birth, Jabez was a constant reminder because he was recognized as trouble. But something of Jabez caused him to rise up. When hear something good from the Lord or people of the Lord, ought to cause you to rise up from little people. Call you changed name. Not concern about pain, now ease, relief, going to be different. Something on inside ought to cause us to rise up and be different than what people have tagged us as. Pain draw because of attitude, cause he made a change. Keys to remember in painful times: • You can’t prevent pain from coming in your life. You can prevent it from defining your life. Not going to let it break me down mentally. • Your past doesnt have to be our future. If continue work in your past then continue, count on doing same thing over and over… • Don’t ask unanswerable questions. Why was I born this way? Why did God allow this to happen to me? Why bad things happen to good people? STOP, this leads you further to negativity. INSTEAD OF WHY – ASK THE “WHAT” QUESTION? What will I do to keep this from happening again? • If you can do something about it, do or avoid doing it. • What can do next to move forward? What can I do to get out of the situation? Some hold on to it as badge of honor. Allow it to scar them, cut insides, and harden their face… Will I allow pain to forever dictate my future? I will not let anybody dictate my future with the Lord. Honey I know it hurt you and I smile - cuts the devil. They ask what I’m smiling about. God is good, ought to tell them. Some people who experience pain become motivated and allow experience to heal others, opportunity to help someone. Want to get joy get around joyful people. Ought to be able to sit and hold conversation. Tell something, who you talking with will understand. Different folks got different strokes. You know someone need to be drawn out from pain to bliss, from ache to relief… Be able to change pain to ease – release. Ought to be able to give you some relief, instead of run from - be able to sit aside our feelings in order to help. Come out of the cocoon. We got to realize who we are and raise up to the occasion. Walk up right before them. God told you to bring forth fruit of your labor. Want to enlarge your territory, people recognize you as child of God.
