Sunday September 22, 2013 was an auspicious day in St. Petersburg because of the opening of the new Vietnamese Buddhist Pure Land temple Tinh Do Pho Hien (Samantabhadras Pure Land), thanks to the efforts of bodhisattva Ms. Le who also inaugurated the first free Buddhist bookstore in the region. We see her in the second picture making a offering to the pretas during a ceremony conducted by Most Venerable Master Thich Tri Duc, abbot of Lien Tri Hai Hoi Temple in Homeland, California. The third photo is of two devout Buddhist ladies from Orlando on both ends, Bhikshuni Ni Su Thich Nu Ngon Lien of Camden, N.J., Ven. Tri Duc, Ven. Abbot Tri Tinh of Chua Phat Phap in St. Petersburg and myself Jin Bup Frank Tedesco of True Dharma Intl Buddhist Mission in Korean Dharma garb. After the ceremonies at Tinh Do Pho Hien, we went on a mini-pilgrimage to three other Vietnamese temples nearby.
