Sunday afternoon doing some Biomex assessments. I use a high speed video camera (300fps) to record the horses movement at trot. I then transfer the video to my lap top & use a software program to measure Flexion , Hyperextension and Protraction of each joint in the limb, These measurements are taken every frame and the data is saved and produced in graph format for comparison. Essentially I am looking to see if the horse moves symmetrically, as we compare the left fore & hind limb with the right fore and hind limb. Variations in Flexion, Hyperextension and/or limb protraction can b a sign of weakness and/or lameness.
