Sunday ,instead of making the two+ week drive ,I Fly to Raleigh NC for The International Bluegrass Music Association World of Bluegrass. There will be lots of Alaskans there too, in addition to great Alaskan Bands . I will see/ hear my favorite Bluegrass Bands, visit with musician friends attend workshops, Jamming ,the trade show ,and the Awards show .and maybe scout for groups to bring up for The Anchorage Folk festival ,and the Alaska Folk Festival . from there I will spend time with my friend Danny Bishop ,in Fairview NC and then visit my Tennessee Family ,Brian Christainson and Nicole Bibus Christianson in Nashville ,and then my friend Kate Riker ,who turned my Irish fiddling around 15 years ago ,and play an Irish session with her in Cincinnati . Back home to civilization (Anchorage Alaska) Mid October . I am so grateful to be able to do all this . I have a new bridge (cut and fit by John Osnes ) on my five string fiddle !,I sounds so good too ! I am ready ! Also today i saw ice on the road today ,and new snow 1/4 th of the way down the Mountains behind town ,and a whole flock of Canada geese by the library !
