Sunday morning I came across two flocks of eastern bluebirds, one near the lake shore and the other feeding along the Outlet Stream. The male is in his bright colors while the female is well suited to blend in to her surroundings. We tend to think of these birds as fair weather friends visiting our yards but they are tough little birds that will spend the winter with us feeding on fruits and berries when insects arent available.
