Sunday morning update on Wildfire #113 which was started by lightning only July 8 about 100 kilometres northwest of Red Earth Creek, is that the fire has been declared as being held at 3,178 hectares. Still assigned to the blaze are 97 firefighters, nine helicopters and 11 dozers. Despite warmer weather and sunny skies in most of Alberta, the wildfire risk is mostly moderate to high in most regions and between Saturday and Sunday mornings, only four new fires occurred. The current largest fire and the largest fire so far this fire season is being held at 6,819 hectares. It is located in rugged terrain near the border of Banff National Park southwest of Rocky Mountain House.
