Sunday report. Well what a day, you know we ride our bikes all year , get some shit weather , wish wed stopped in bed etc but today made up for all that, beautiful sunny day, fantastic company, great group riding ....nice. highlight of the day...well that had to be Mechelles back bottom but thats for later. And so who was at the meet? Geoff Draper, el pres, el cap, andy nicholls, nick newby, Alister Salter, Les Dawson, Chris Bairstow, sky john, Brendan Marsden and misen made 11, and up the road for our second meet were 3 others in Alan Gibson , steve g, and our newest sunday gang member on his first trip we welcomed simon asquith. Ok onwards...now unbeknownst to most les had said something in als lug oil and we were took on a mystery tour of wakey back roads ...which were actually ...well nice! Thank you mr dawson. On for Featherstone with les and chris peeling off for home and then brendan following suit with his bottom bracket playing up , then it happened...very slyly but I noticed it without doubt, well hes off out on his tod most sundays , just 20 odd yards or more in front but at east hardwick a sprint for the sign came about....ok ok...mmmm darrington....one nil to the good guy (yes its me), womersley, two nil and before and dont forget ive got steel all over ...bish bash bosh 4 nil! Have some of that . On for pollington ( shane where were you?) And fed up with me sky took on andy Nichols for the sign and got spat out ...bosh! But the sweetest thing nick got a flat, ok sounds odd but it gave john the chance to redeem himself for the sprint but no...done again....good night Vienna. On for snaith and the turn for sykehouse, alittle uncertainty there with the turn, Alistair finding heavy legs, chuntering abound....and we were there...on a boat! Flipping fantastic. For the record...cheese and ham butty (branston pickle) all washed down with gods own countrys cider and with Mechelle showing a little bit to much, game bird as she was , just topped off first trip to the coffee boat. Home? A left that shouldve been right and on for askern with then what became the geoff draper show, hell the nights to long to explain but poor old Alistair put an extra 10 mile on his journey. Next week lets hope for more good weather, more great banter etc, please try and get down for 7.45, plenty sweeties in the back pockets, no desires to be boy racers , we are are being joined by other clubs who will look on us to put on a good show again so lets do it thorpers.
