Sunday was National Lobster Newburg Day! Lobster Newburg was brought to Charles Delmonico of New York by sea captain Ben Wenburg in 1876. It was served at Delmonicos as Lobster a la Wenburg until a disagreement between Wenburg and Delmonico arose. Out of spite and with a typographical slight-of-hand, Delmonico changed the name of the dish from Lobster a la Wenburg to Lobster Newburg. Havent tried it yet? Well you should, because its delicious.
