Sunspot 2205 The active region produced four low level M-Flares - TopicsExpress

Sunspot 2205 The active region produced four low level M-Flares during the past 24 hours and now an X-Class flare. Listed below is each solar flare generated by 2205 up until this point. The active region maintains a Beta-Gamma-Delta magnetic configuration and will remain a threat for moderate to strong solar flares as it turns into a geoeffective position(Earth facing). When a sunspot this organized and maintains it strength an X-Class flare is just a matter of time. Multiple X-class flares are even possible. The question is..... now that 2205 is almost earth facing will she continue the same pattern or start to break down. We will see. Right behind her starting to show on the eastern limb now is another active area which is also responsible for CMES. How organized is she. To be continued... Credit: solarham for chart.
