Superb Bloodlines On Offer At Charollais Sheep Premier The Charollais Breed continues to prove an attractive investment for commercial sheep farmers; as a terminal sire its characteristic traits of easy finishing with good conformation can make the difference between profit and loss. 2013 has been an unbelievable year for the Charollais sheep breed in Northern Ireland winning Eight out of nine Interbreed Show Championships. Kicking off at Balmoral was Artnagullion Miss Diva owned by the McAllister Family from Kells. “Miss Diva”,sired by Ballyhibbon Kickstart won her Breed Championship and went on to claim the Supreme Interbreed title. Charollais also won the RUAS Interbreed Pairs with “Miss Diva” and the Charollais Male Champion Gogwell Kicking King from the Lornbrook Flock of Diane Christie the Breed were also awarded the Group of Three making it a clean sweep for the breed. Reserve Male Champion at Balmoral Hollylodge “ Made to Measure”has continued his success winning the Interbreed Championship at Ballymena, Armagh, Saintfield, Newry. Sired by Blakeney King Louis Made to Measure was purchased at the Charollais premier sale in Dungannon 2012 from McConnell Brothers,Parkgate for 3600gns. The Artnagullion Flock has also continued to produce Show Headliners with Miss Dynamite a full ET sister to Miss Diva powering her way through to win Supreme Interbreed Champion at Ballymoney and Castlewellan and Reserve Interbreed in Omagh. The Lornbrook Flock won Supreme Interbreed at Lurgan with a Senior Ewe Progeny from these and many other Prize Winning Blood Lines can be purchased at the Charollais Premier Sale in Dungannon Market on Monday 29th July, show 10.30am sale 1.00pm. One hundred and thirty two head are catalogued for sale, with all sheep eligible for export to GB and Southern Ireland. Judge for the day is Scottish Breeder Alan Kennedy from Parkgate, Alan is a professional shearer having taken part in many Shearing competitions throughout the UK and New Zealand.
