Superficially the Delhi Vidhan Sabha election looks like a bipolar contest between BJP and AAP with Cong, BSP and others as spoilers and Votekatwa. But essentially Delhi has become a battle ground between the idea of India as enshrined in our Constitution and majoritarianist undemocratic forces. It is feared that rule of law may soon be overwhelmed by rule of lumpens. All those who believe in deepening of democracy and citizencentric governance without any discriminations on the grounds of caste, class, gender, ethnicity, faith, age and race have to decide their course of action for 7th Feb. Voting. Unity of purposive intervention is a principled imperative. Keeping silent or staying away from Delhi scene is no more an option.
