Support Our Policies, But Be Patient — Uduaghan Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State has called on Deltans to be patient and fully support government policies, programmes and activities so as to attract more infrastructural development to the state. Dr Uduaghan gave the advice yesterday at Eku in Ethiope East Local Government Area when he paid a condolence visit to the family of a renowned Pharmacist and owner of Johnson and Joe’s Chemist, late Chief Johnson Ukueku. He urged Deltans to imbibe the virtue of patience both in their personal lives and with his administration and to wholeheartedly support his policies and programmes to enable them enjoy the dividends of democracy in all parts of the state. His word, “ l am calling on Deltans to imbibe the virtue of patience both in their personal lives and with government and give unflinching support to our policies and programmes as they are designed for rapid infrastructure. ” The governor described late Chief Ukueku as a man who had immensely contributed to the health of the people and the political development of the state. While explaining that he imbibed the virtues of patience and perseverance from Chief Ukueku, Governor Uduaghan noted that the sermon preached by him as a Baptist pastor during his (governor’s) school days in Federal Government College, Warri helped to shape his early life and taught him how to respect elders. He called on the family of late Chief Johnson Ukueku, his community and associates to take solace in the fact that their father, son and friend lived a fulfilled and befitting life while on earth and advised them to preserve his legacies. The governor also assured the people of Ethiope East Local Government Area that the state government would soon present a staff of office to the traditional ruler of Agbon clan. Responding on behalf of the family, the eldest son of the deceased, Mr. Ochuko Ukueku thanked the governor for the visit, saying “this visit has boosted plans to give my father a befitting burial. We are grateful, sir.” He commended the governor for his developmental stride in all parts of the state and pledged the support of his community for the state government. The governor who was among the dignitaries that signed the condolence register of late Chief Ukueku was accompanied on the visit by the member representing Warri Federal Constituency, Hon. Daniel Reyenieju, members of the State Executive Council and his Senior Political Adviser , Chief Ighoyota Amori.
