Support for a very courageous mama! You all helped so much with positive comments for this lovely mama when I posted her story a couple of months ago - her baby has transitioned calmly to the bottle as mama has started her cancer treatment but she is having a tough time and needs some love and support. To refresh, here is the story we shared earlier - please share healing thoughts and prayers for this courageous mother. 20wks pregnant I was diagnosed with advanced cancer. During pregnancy my poor baby had to undergo chemo in utero with me. We survived that. She was delivered 4 weeks early so they could operate on me. We survived that. One of my greatest fears were soon lifted. I didnt need more chemo so could breastfeed my baby. Despite people telling me I should focus on recovering and healing, I persevered and it took 4 immensely difficult weeks establishing milk supply and her feeding post major surgery. We survived that. 5,1/2 weeks of daily radiation followed. I survived that. Now feeling great and fully recovered my life is shattered again with news that it has spread and this time I need to have chemo with my radiation. This means I have to stop breastfeeding. This closeness with my baby girl has been the biggest source of my joy and strength and now I have to stop. I dont know if i should be easy on myself, be grateful for 5 months of breastfeeding and just move forward and let it go. (She is my last baby. They performed a radical hysterectomy)
