Supporting young people into employment Scottish Borders Council (SBC) is delighted to announce the formal launch of the new Youth Employment Scotland Scheme in the Scottish Borders following the recent successful appointment of Barnardo’s Works East to deliver the Scheme. The Youth Employment Scotland Scheme will help local businesses create new jobs for young people by providing grants of half of the salary costs for a six month period. The scheme will target job ready young people aged 16-24 who have been unemployed for up to six months and have had difficulty in securing employment.
