Surat ul-Baqarah - The Cow - Quran Surah 2.. Abu Hurairah (r.a) reported that the Prophet PBUH said: Do not make your house as graveyards. Satan runs away from the house in which Surah al-Baqarah is recited.t In another Hadith reported by Ibn Mas (r.a), the Prophet (s.a.w.w) said: Recite Surat al-Baqarah in your houses, for Satan cannot enter a house where Surat al-Baqarah is recited.[Sahih Muslim 1707] An-Numan Ibn Bashir (r.a) narrated that the Prophet PBUH said: Two thousand years before creating the heavens and the Earth, Allah inscribed a book in which He revealed the last two verses of Surat al-Baqarah. The Devil will not come near a house in which these (verses) are recited for three nights.[Sahih Muslim (780), Imam Ahmed (2/284) Ibn Hibban 780] Ibn Taimiyyah, may Allah have mercy on him, said: Numerous people who have experienced these events all confirm the amazing effectiveness of this verse in warding off Jinn and breaking their spells.
