Surely Noynoy, Mar and Leila de Lima know that unless Napoles is granted immunity, she won’t talk and incriminate herself, which means that what Noynoy, Mar and Leila really want is for her to say, as state witness given full immunity, is for her to say whatever they dictate on her what to say, which would then lead to her pointing the finger at the legislators who are non-allies of Noynoy and the LP and their allies in the Legislature. Why else would she have gone to Malacanang and surrender to Noynoy, of all people? And why should Noynoy and she even have to have a private talk between them? Suspicion is high that Noynoy was also ensuring that he would be protected from any involvement in the pork barrel scam. As things have gone, even the Commission on Audit (CoA) and the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) of Butch Abad ensured that there would be no documents that would show any involvement of Noynoy in the pork scam. Noynoy has been a legislator for at least 12 years — and in the time of Gloria Arroyo, he was her staunch ally until 2006, when political ties were cut. The CoA report focused on 2007 to 2009, which was suspect in itself, apart from which, only P40 million was marked by CoA and the DBM for Noynoy’s pork, which is difficult to believe, even if he had cut ties with Gloria. It is still a puzzle why the CoA chief had to give Noynoy an advance copy of the special audit, considering that the CoA is supposed to be an independent constitutional body. That is as suspect as Napoles surrendering to Noynoy in the Palace and having a private chat with him.
