Surely these guys will be shunned inappropriately. How dare they! Uncle Toms, right? Brainwashed by the vile Republicans. Automatons that cant think for themselves, right? Political innuendo and agendas proliferate every advertisement nowadays, from both sides. Even within one party while vying for position, as in the Purdue/Kingston primary runoff in Georgia. Do you really KNOW who to believe and who not to believe? Do you do your OWN research to confirm or deny what you hear or read? Are you one-sided because you havent heard the opposing side? Or is it just that you cant trust the opposing side? Do you stop to really understand what each side has to say? To see where they are coming from? Or are you siding with the loudest? Do you side with Democrats or Republicans, just because of their party designation? Do you watch CNN exclusively, and shun Fox, (or the other way around) just because the people you know do the same thing? Have you ventured over the line, or investigated supporting facts representing the opposing viewpoint? The mainstream media, political advertising, and speeches by the elected man (on BOTH sides!) are all orchestrated to sway your opinions, in hopes that nobody will do any due diligence. Thus arises the need for a role like Politifact, but... who really ever hears the corroboration (or denial) of claims made? When the communication media is ONE-WAY, and theres no mechanism for debate or refutation, the carefully constructed propaganda surfaces, with no fear of retribution. Those who are within earshot and not concerned enough to validate what they hear are the target audience. And trust towards politicians is extended WAY too easily in todays society, which is quite odd given the level of paranoia that the media has brought us regarding our fellow man, the stranger next door, etc. This world is SOOO backwards. Do your own research people, look at both sides of the arguments, and THEN take a stand. But continually research and revise. Knowledge is power, and ignorance is blissful and damning at the same time. BECOME AWARE.
