Surf report for Doheny State Beach: South Orange County South OC Afternoon Regional Overview: Crumbly to bumpy conditions at many breaks this afternoon with the light to moderate SSW wind. Long period, steep angled NW groundswell (290+300+) is mixing with small, long period SW swell (210-220). Average breaks are in the waist high and below range, especially with the dropping tide. Breaks best exposed to either swell are a little better, but not by a whole bunch (inconsistent chest high sets) The tide is dropping to a 0 low around 2:45 and we can expect generally worsening conditions as it continues to drain out.This mornings dawn patrol: Flat on the minimal swell and high tide right now. Clean surface conditions. Expect surf to increase some through the day as the new WNW swell builds in, and for the tide to drop into the afternoon.
