Surgery started at 4:00 and placed on bypass machine and vent by 4:45. They told us it would be 1-5 hours from that point. 50 minutes later we got the call that they were done and he was successfully off bypass with heart beating strong. He had three bypasses to the main coronary artery and branches in an area also known as the widow maker. They said it was a miracle the defects were located without major incident or death preceding. Our God is in control folks! I just got to see him briefly by happenstance as they were loading him on the elevator. He looked great and was resting well! He is still on the vent to allow him to rest and has a balloon pump in place until they are sure he is stable. We are so grateful for all of the calls, visits, support, encouragement and especially the prayers!
