Survived rafting on the Shenendoah and Potomac today. Saw an eagle hunting around its nest, and deer on an island run away from us. Did spend a few dips in the bottom of the boat till I could get my grip again, but our guide was excellent. Kate and Alex want to tackle a more difficult river, but Im content with the 1 and 2 ratings. How come every boat trip I take is three hours? Found a wonderful little jewelry shop in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, where the proprietor makes much of her own jewelry and/or features other local artists. Beautiful stuff. Topped it off with hand dipped ice cream at a little walk up shop. Think I may be stiff tomorrow, though. Used muscles I didnt know I had.
