Susan’s other passion MUVHANGO’S Maumela Mahuwa, who plays the role of Susan, could soon be dropping her acting career – to become a pastor. Known for her humble character in the SABC2 Tshivenda soapie, Susan is now a pastor and preaches the word of God to believers countrywide. MTVSA has learnt that Susan is operating an outreach ministry which targets churches in the rural villages. But her move to become a pastor has left people asking a lot of questions on whether she is contemplating a full-time venture into the ministry – and leaving the soapie. The actress was spotted offering a sermon last Sunday at a church called Christian Transformation Centre in Senwamokgope, Limpopo. The leader of the church, Pastor Sebola, confirmed that Maumela was the main speaker and took over the role of a pastor at the church on that Sunday. Pastor Sebola said: “She has been operating her ministry for quite some time and is dedicated to the work of God. We normally invite her through her outreach ministry, Omega Ministries, to come and administer to our congregation. We are in a partnership.” An independent source close to the actress said: “Susan is a God-fearing woman. At the rate she is going with her ministry, she is bound to consider doing it on a full-time basis.” MTVSA has learnt that Muvhango’s producers are supportive of her path, but are sceptical about her hobby. “They are very concerned about her projects because they believe they might interfere in her work as an actress,” said our mole. Muvhango publicist, Amanda Ngudle, said: “Susan’s religious activities are not a secret to the production and we are fully aware of her other passion besides acting.” Amanda disputed allegations that Susan might leave the soapie to focus on her ministry full-time. Susan was not available for comment.
