Sutton Winson Insurance - Garys employers .... Our keen cyclists show their solidarity. As many of you know, Gary Allen, Account Executive in BH, has been in hospital for the past four weeks having had an operation to tackle the symptoms of Crohns disease, with which he has suffered for many years. Those of you that know people with this condition will understand how debilitating it can be. To show solidarity to Gary and wish him a full and speedy recovery our keen cyclists – Hamish, Joe, Bruce and Tim – have taken on a challenge to cycle the 100 miles (160 km) of the South Downs Way National Trail on 18 and 19 April and at the same time raise much needed funds for the forCrohns charity. The South Downs way information page tells us ‘doing it in anything less than 3 days will require quite a high degree of fitness’. Our cyclists are planning to start in Winchester, stop overnight in Amberley and finish in Eastbourne, climbing 12,600ft (3,800m) in the process. Having spent too little time in training, we can expect broken men with sore backsides arriving at their final destination but with a great sense of achievement. If you would like to show your support for Gary and our cyclists, please give a little to the forCrohns charity by clicking this LINK Bruce & Tim will be extending the challenge to the Dragon Ride, one of the UK’s toughest cycling events, in June. More to follow.…keep an eye out on the next issue of Snippets to see how the event turned out. You never know, perhaps as a bonus we might see no-make up selfies taken along the way.
