Swapo Namibia and GRN must revisit resettlement on farms. Giving 1 - TopicsExpress

Swapo Namibia and GRN must revisit resettlement on farms. Giving 1 family or 1 group state land for 99 years is far fetched. Lets divide farms in 3 categories: basic units which can hold up to 75 large cattle, medium units which can hold up to 125 large cattle and large units which can hold up to 175 large cattle. All farmers must be encouraged / empowered to graduate from smallest unit to largest units, and then be helped to acquire commercial farm. This way people will economically farm but at moment many resettled farmers view these as retirement villas. Why should only some people own state land for 99 years whereas GRN continues to receive hundreds of application for each single unit advertised, lets be realistic, practical and pragmatic with farming units under resettlement program.
