SwiftKey, an incredible keyboard for Android, has just gone from $3.99 to FREE. They also made a number of improvements. So far, predictions, seem better (especially with Flow, which is like Swype) and theres a number of new features and themes. On the surface, its an unexpected move (for one of the best selling apps of all time) but it makes sense when you consider recent announcements from Apple. Theyre finally going to allow for 3rd party keyboards on iStuff so SwiftKey will be expanding to the App Store. Apple also announced it would be bringing some SwiftKey style predictive text functionality to iPhone users (for free.) SwiftKey would probably have a hard time gaining a foothold at its current price point, especially in an ecosystem where users arent used to replacing/augmenting core system apps. Ive owned SwiftKey for years and always seem to come back when I try an alternative. If you want to try it out, you can find it in the Play Store: https://play.google/store/apps/details?id=com.touchtype.swiftkey EDIT: Relevant xkcd: xkcd/1068/
