Synthetic vs. plant-sourced vitamins shutterstock_118965436A study was done and published in a medical journal called Medical Hypothesis in 2000 where they compared absorption rates and function rates of synthetic vitamins as opposed to plant sourced vitamins and their conclusion was very clear. The bio-availability of real food vitamins is certainly more efficient, more effective, higher than with synthetics and that should make sense because you don’t make enzymes to digest the by-products of petroleum. This man, Hungarian scientist, Dr Albert Von St George, back in the 1930s, interesting fellow that basically everyone’s forgotten about and that’s unfortunate. In the early 1930s synthetic chemistry was created, that’s when synthetic chemists found that they could take derivatives from petroleum and change the molecule, move the molecules around and make something that kind of looks like the central molecule of a vitamin. Well Dr St George said “I don’t believe that a derivative of petroleum could function the same way in the human body as a real food vitamin”. He went on to prove he was right. It has no requirement for synthetics.
