Systems Engineer - 130001SU Summary: Job requires to design and develop packaged converged infrastructure solutions with Dell’s enterprise server, storage and network product offerings. The architecture design covers complete network architecture layout for the converged fabric, which will be hosting different class of network traffics for any application deployment. For these packaged solutions which are designed for private cloud infrastructure, virtualization is key for them – designing the complete solutions with pre-integrated hypervisors (VMware and Microsoft Hyper-v) is within the scope of the work. Complete End-to-End (server-networking-storage) validation, debugging of the issues for involved subsystem, working cross functionally to resolve interoperability issues are major activities of the job. Job also requires development of reference architecture for datacenter applications (e.g. SharePoint, MS Exchange, Lync, VDI, and database) with these converged infrastructure platforms. The best practices for designing and developing these packaged solutions need to be converted to technical whitepapers, blogs etc. which gets published in dell as external publications. The Requirements · Should have around 3 - 6 years of relevant industry experience. · Must have strong networking background with hands-on experience in deploying network topologies in date center environments. · Should have deep technical knowledge and practical exposures to networking technologies i.e. STP, VLT, Stacking, LAG etc. · Design and Build end-to-end reference architecture for Virtual Environments based on VMWare ESX Server and Microsoft Hyper-V with focus on system level · Working knowledge of provisioning at system and application level, workload mana gement is a plus. · Must have good analytical skills to analyze and root cause issues at sub-system level. Should have BE/BTech/MS/MTech in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering Preferences. Working knowledge on other industry products like CISCO UCS and/or HP Matrix will be a big plus. Should have worked on designing and validating converged infrastructure solutions with deep knowledge in Data Center Bridging (DCB) with iSCSI and/or FCoE. Exposure to Physical-to-Virtual, Virtual-to-Physical migrations in real world environments is a plus. Exposure to x86 Servers and Storage Technologies (iSCSI, FC) is required. Hands-on expertise on using workload management and monitoring tools would be desired. Should be familiar with integration from systems to applications. Must be able to able to design workloads to size servers/storage and simulate multiple VMs running heterogenous workloads. Must have a system-to-application level architecture view. Experience in writing technical white papers taking into account customer usage scenarios and real world deployment would be a plus. Should have excellent written and spoken communication.
