T STATE--POWER CRISIS & MASSIVE TAX REVENUE EROSION --MAJOR HURDLES TO DEVELOPMENT. The recent announcement of a 2-day power holiday for industries is said to have come as a huge disincentive for new investments in the state. A further hurdle to attract new investments is the States admission of massive erosion of tax revenues in the coming years leading to lack of resources for infrastructure development needed for industrial and business investments.The emerging fiscal scenario is very bleak and a matter of serious concern. (Times of India. Oct. 12). As citizens of the new state, it is our fervent hope that these concerns are constructively addressed and overcome by the state, to usher in rapid investments and development in all spheres of activity.
