T&T Alumni Speaker Confirmed for Fall 2014: Dr. Mark Pollitt! During his thirty year career with the Federal government, Mark Pollitt served as military officer and FBI Special Agent, where he investigated organized crime, narcotics, stolen property, white collar fraud and computer crime cases. He became the first Agent designated as a Computer Evidence Examiner in the newly formed Computer Analysis Response Team (CART).In 1996, he was promoted to FBI Headquarters where he led the CART program during the period in which it grew from a handful of people to over 250 Examiners and became the preeminent computer forensic unit in the world. In 2002, he became the Director of the FBIs Regional Computer Forensic Laboratory Program where he worked with Federal, state and local law enforcement agencies to build digital forensic laboratories across the United States. He served as the Chairman and Vice-Chairman for the International Organization on Computer Evidence (IOCE), Chair of the Scientific Working Group on Digital Evidence (SWGDE), and as Co-Chair of the Computer Forensic Educators Working Group. After retiring from the FBI in 2003, Dr. Pollitt retired from the FBI and has been teaching and consulting. He came to UCF in the fall of 2007 to pursue his doctorate in Texts & Technology. He graduated in the spring of 2013.
