TAKE ACTION NOW: HELP STOP THE HONOLULU COUNCIL FROM CRIMINALIZING HOUESLESSNESS Aloha all, The Honolulu City Council has turned poverty into a crime. But there is a better solution – and we need your help to tell the City Council to make that happen. The City Council is once again about to pass another law that criminalizes being poor and Houseless in Hawaii—all in the name of serving our communities. But theres an effective, workable, more humane way to address the problem thats been proven both economic and successful in mainland cities. Its called “Housing First.” Our City Council says its committed to “Housing First,” but has yet to adequately fund it so that it could actually be implemented. We need to demand they do the right thing to eliminate the problem.
