She turned away from me and I went into full smiles. I didnt know what say, was doing poos & wees man inside my mind but I wouldnt back down like a wuss. I bowed/ifo in front of her as the next song started for a dance. She shook her head no but I was determined and confident on the outside despite inside saying shame! Lol She looked around shyly as people were starting to notice I was left hanging, so she got up finally after what felt like 5yrs out of pity lol. It was a fast song so we grooved, I was on cloud 9 just hoping for the next song to be slow! Cheehoo man, it was slow and finally I got my chance. In my arms again we waltzed, all I saw was her. I grinned from ear to ear and whispered to her. how are you? She cringed & with attitude said Ea? What do you want you egg? I laughed and just enjoyed the moment. This is do or die lol she pulled away then went back to her table in mid dance as I answered you.... Im no romantic but boy did that girl make we wanna go crazy! I didnt press for anything more & left her to have her fun. But I couldnt keep my eyes off that table. As we squashed into our bomb for home we saw Fuataina was coming out of the siva with her girls. The others came over to say bye but she stood afar. I called her over & her face softened as she came close. I said she made my night,. Not impressed at all Fuataina said Promise me something, dont ever drink then drive behind the wheel its stupid. You have other lives in the car with you. I nodded ok thinking this girl is straight up and caring arghhhh she is the bomb! how did she know I drank? It was hours after I saw her. We waved and drove off. DAMN I forgot to ask for her number :( Hello! so sorry, Im trying to keep it short but it looks like a loooong az story LOL A week passed and nothing happened. I was feeling down but guys like me don’t always show it. I missed her & couldn’t stop thinking about her. I figured enough was enough, I put my head down and just worked 7 days a week, as I had no other idea on how to get in contact with her. The broz wanted to go clubbing but wanted to stop at a siva first & I declined. Ain’t no one got time for that. I ended up going along anyway lol as they needed a sober driver. I quit drinking after Fuataina said those last words to me as it hit home. She was right about everything, slowing down because she was too young 3 years ago, man I’m dumb & about drink driving. All these things I thought about just made me long for her even more so I pushed it aside. The siva was at another hall far from the suburb that Fuataina lived around, so I thought there was no chance of seeing her again. We parked and walked inside, 5 hot single idiots lol. Broz did the rounds of hello to all the relos, some mates too. I just nodded and met a nice man from back home from the same village visiting. Out the corner of my eye Lauti’s sister Suka caught my attention she stood talking to a group of girls on a table. I saw Fuataina’s bestie Penina was one of them, so for sure I knew she would be too. I looked around and behold I thought -here comes my future wifey LOL She seemed to shrink behind her older cousin Lupe as they walked to the table. The men at other tables looked at her with interest but she looked like she would rather have stayed home to read a book. (Or OMG Samoan Love Stories haha!) The broz walked over to say hello to Penina. She was our favourite of the group, like a sister to us. I chatted with my village friend while watching the table. Later the broz said they wanted to go to the clubs & I said hell no. But then they all laughed saying the girls were gonna meet up with us. What girls you fags? And they all said Penina and them. We got to the club after I changed my mind lol, then I went straight to Penina and said hello hows things? Penina said “Shes in the toilet, maybe for the rest of the night. Not happy with you Romeo.” And with that she cracks up laughing. I waited till she came out and said hello. Fuataina “Yeah…hello Fresh.” And she walked off. I didn’t go after her and well sadly we didn’t hook up that night. I did notice my bro was getting cosy with Fuataina’s family friend. But I chickened out that night & I was secretly scared of getting rejected. My weekend job had me selling fruits at the local market & I really enjoyed people haggling for a bargain. Was packing up my stall with the bro when I saw Fuataina and Penina. They spoke to my bro for abit, the egg is such a perve he puts his shades on just so the girls wouldn’t notice him checking them out. After they left I said to bro, what were youse talking about? He said “Ohhh nothing, just an invite to Fuataina’s 20th bday & her phone number….” I said “What? (this brother was a real dork to me when I was settling in so I don’t believe his kaka stories coz that’s what he does.), “yeah right. Show me you liar” With that, bro hands over a number and I went to my room. I did not own a mobile or cell phone in them days so I waited the next day on my work break to call her from a pay phone. She answered and sounded happy to hear from me. We talked briefly as I said before I don’t talk a lot but think more. But she seemed to read me so well. She said if I had a cell/mobile and I said yeah at the shop. Fuataina :”You’re so dry, but I’ve got a phone if you want it”
