#TBT If you want to laugh at someone today (ME), please continue reading the following post. Its pretty embarrassing :) Last year I was hired to photograph my old classmate Salvador s wedding. I had not seen him since 2005 and had only met with his future bride over coffee to discuss the day and how the event was going to take place. She gave me a time and location for the wedding and we left it at that. The day of the event I show up to the church at the designated time an hour early. I walk in and my friends Matt and Gilbert are at the entrance to greet me. We say hello and we catch up (had not seen them in years either) We have a nice conversation UNTIL the questions came. Why are you carrying two cameras? Are you a photographer now? Are you photographing this wedding? Because if you are, ITS IN PROGRESS RIGHT NOW!. HA HA HA.. there is no way I am late, I think to myself......is there? Maybe I am at the wrong church I start to think. Maybe I heard wrong. Quickly I ask. Is this Salvadors wedding. YES they yell in response. I quickly turn pale, which is difficult since I have a bit of a dark tan. NO WAY! I am late? This can not be happening to me! I could of sworn...! OMG! I panic. I start pacing, while contemplating should I still walk into a wedding that is already taking place? Do I run out in embarrassment? Whats wrong with me? Maybe I am not meant to be a photographer if I cant tell time. Maybe I should dig a hole through the concrete and hide. I quickly decide to photograph the wedding. Something is better than nothing. I will give them their deposit back and beg for forgiveness and shoot free pictures for them for the rest of their existence!! I rush in cameras blasting! Shutters going crazy! Memory card cant even keep up! I switch to my backup camera! Start shooting! Flashes blinding! I am going crazy! Sweating! Feeling horrible the whole time. People looking at me like I am crazy THEN, it happens. I zoom into the groom and Salvador does not look like the Salvador I remember.....Hmm.....WHATEVER Matt and Gilbert said it was him. This is no time to second guess myself. I start working again. I think I am shooting the ceiling, the floor, the seats. I am covering all bases. I am in a picture frenzy! This goes on for the next 10 minutes until its over. I walk out of the church dead tired, I may faint at this point. I have never taken so many pictures in 10 minutes in my entire life. When suddenly!....I see him. Salvador, the guy I went to school with. Hey Sam, glad to see you here early, he says........wait WHAT? My mind rushes to a stop and I think. Did I ever consider that the groom whos wedding I just photographed is named Salvador too? I almost exhaled all the air in my body that I had been holding since walking into that church. (Turned unto a raisin) Sure enough both grooms names were Salvador and I had just photographed someone elses wedding. So its my pleasure to share these pictures with you of Salvador and Janette Guerrero. Sorry for photo crashing your wedding :)
