#TBT...back to 1971-72 and the Beaumont High School Football season. We were a rag tag misfit group of young men half black/half white with a few browns in there too....maybe 25 total on varsity. Two-a-Days in August were brutal in Beaumont. I was a junior...Mudd, Shaver, Harris, Martinez & Hudson were seniors. Most all of us had to play both ways. We surprised a lot of folks and were District Co-Champs. In the football locker/dressing room....I remember us busting out singing this Clarence Carter - song Patches. Even today my sons know every word to Patches....they grew up hearing me sing it. No doubt...my Grands will know it too. #GreatMemory #EveryNightIHeardMyMamaPrayLordGiveHimTheStrenghtToMakeAnotherDay
