TCAP 2013-2014 Are We Getting Our Moneys Worth? No we are not. In these charts I compare Oak Ridge Schools TCAP performance with that of Maryville School District and Johnson City School District. We spend about $3,000 more per student per year compared to them. That is 30% more than Maryville School District and Johnson City School District spend on their students. Oak Ridge Schools has nothing to show for the extra money spent. Rather, almost in all areas we did much poorly compared to the achievements in these school districts. Oak Ridge Schools will argue it had to do with adoption of Common Core. It seems the other school districts did a better job in Common Core adoption. They will argue that we have more students in poverty. That is not an excuse, deal with it, adopt to the changing demographics. Poor student also have right to good education. Once again I am telling this emperor that he is naked.
