TCAPS’ Students in Transition Empowerment Program (STEP) helps students, ages 3-20, maintain school stability while they are experiencing a loss of permanent housing. Through the STEP program, students receive academic support and tutoring, transportation assistance, school supplies, personal hygiene products and clothing, referrals for housing, counseling, and so much more. The STEP program is currently in need of the following items: Pillows Blankets Travel items – toiletry bags, toothbrush covers, etc. Towels Washcloths Personal hygiene items Shoes Underwear Boys/Girls low cut no show socks – black and white School supplies Backpacks Gas cards / BATA passes for transportation needs Monetary donations to go toward driver’s training and/or extracurricular fees Gift cards for above items If you are interested in making a donation, items may be dropped off at the main STEP office at Traverse City High School, 3962 Three Mile Road, N. Please include your name, address, and a phone or email address with your donation. Every little bit helps to make a huge difference in these students’ lives.
