🌻 🌻TEACHER TALK TUESDAY 11-4-14 🌻🌻 As a graduate of Oak Grove High School (Class of ’87), I am so happy to be back in this community as a teacher. This is my 11th year teaching 5th grade at Oak Grove Elementary and my 24th year teaching in Jefferson County. Before Oak Grove, I spent 13 years at Crumly Chapel Elementary, where I taught 6th grade, 5th grade, Gifted and Talented, and Reading Intervention. I received both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Montevallo and I meet the Highly Qualified Standard for the state of Alabama. On a personal front, after I graduated from Oak Grove High School, I received my Bachelor’s degree and my Master’s degree in education from the University of Montevallo. I am married to Mark Bullington and we have 5 children between us, and 2 grandchildren. Our oldest, my step-daughter Sarah, is married to Wes Hardin and they are the parents of our granddaughter Katie and grandson Levi. Sadly our Katie-Bug passed away September 20th, 2009 but will always be in our hearts. We were blessed with our grandson Levi October 18th, 2011. Sarah and her family live in Tuscaloosa where she is a cake decorator that has been featured on Food Network’s Cake Challenge. Next in line is my daughter, Danielle, a junior at the University of Alabama where she is studying Human Development and Family Studies. My step-son Nathan is a freshman this year at the University of Central North Carolina where he is a music student specializing in saxophone. My daughter Holly is in 12th grade at Oak Grove High School where she is a member of the marching band and is preparing to study Nutrition at The University of Alabama in the fall. The last of our crew is my niece Megan, a 11th grader at The Shades Valley International Baccalaureate School and a hostess at Applebee’s. My family and I have been blessed to be a part of this community and the elementary and high school here. I really enjoy the close relationship between the elementary and high school because it helps me stay in touch with students and families I have worked with over the years. I really enjoy hearing from “my kids” and catching up on their lives since they left my class. I am so thankful for the opportunity to work with the children here at Oak Grove Elementary and I love watching them grow up. I hope to have many more years working with the children of Oak Grove. Thank you for sharing your children with me! Posted below: Mrs.Bullington and her family
