TED CRUZ knows how to pull an all-nighter. The Texas Republican kept talking through Tuesday night and into the early hours Wednesday, beating out Rand Paul’s epic 13-hour filibuster in March. Cruz vowed Tuesday to “talk until I am not longer able to stand,” although Wednesday’s procedural vote will happen regardless of his speaking since he is not technically on a filibuster (filibusters can only stop legislation, this is stopping a bill that funds the government). Cruz leads a coalition of Republicans who have threatened to vote against funding the government if funding for Obamacare is not removed from the budget, but they do not have the votes to block it—so Cruz is making one last (likely doomed) stand.
