TEMPTATION IS NOT SIN. Jesus was holy, & pure;yet He was tempted in all points as we are,but with a strength & power that man will never be called upon to endure. When satan comes in like a flood,we must meet his temptations with the sword of the Spirit, & Jesus will be our helper & will lift up a standard against him. When the children of Isreal fully submitted to God before they went into battle with the enemy,God worked a complete victory for them. When we sense a temptation,we should quickly submit ourselves to God, & He will work in us whatever is needed to have the victory. The angels of God will sorround us & temptation will lose its power. Around every tempted soul,there are angels of God,ready to lift up the standard of righteousness,if the tempted one will only show a spirit of resistance to evil (RH) But,its not the work of good angels to contral minds against the will of individuals. If they yield to to the enemy, & make effort to resist him,then the angels of God can do but little more than hold in check tbhe host of satan,that they should not destroy, until further light be given to those in peril,to move them to arouse & look to heaven for help. Jesus will not commission holy angels to extricate those who make no effort to help themselves. (MYP)
