TGIF By Kelvin Chesa INVEST IN YOURSELF To invest is to devote, contribute, supply or put in something; be it time, money or any resource in your reach into something or someone else in order to acquire a profitable output at the end. Mike Murdock said, You will never possess what you are unwilling to pursue. To become, you must do. People often think that a noble character happens by chance or someone was born that way; however, getting to the real situation, thats a fallacy. Noble character is not a thing of favour or chance. Neither is mastered intellectual prowess in a subject or skill. Its the natural result of continued and disciplined effort, determination and perseverance in investing in oneself to think, act and do in a certain proper desired manner. What someone reads, studies, observes, and hears from his/her environment will determine at the end of the day what you become. This is because this ends up shaping our thought patterns and thinking processes. All we are is the result of what we have thought said Buddha. Desire to be the best and go ahead and become the best. Dare to Invest in yourself. Napoleon Hill declared, Desire is the starting point of all human achievement; not a hope, not a wish, but a keen pulsating desire, which transcends everything. Take time to study, read books, culture yourself in the direction you see your life taking. If your ambition is to pursue a medical career, start thinking and carry yourself as a doctor. If you dream of being a CEO or an MD, think, talk and behave as one. An ignoble and bestial character is the result of continued harboring of groveling thoughts and precious knowledge. Everyone is their own maker or destroyer. You are your own master of thought,moulder of character ,the maker and shaper of conditions, environment and even destiny. You hold the key to every situation only if you invest quality time into molding yourself. Note this, only by much searching and mining are gold and diamonds obtained. In the same way, anyone who digs deeper into themselves will be amazed at the treasures in them. The skills, ideas, potential, abilities and the list goes on and on. Therefore build up the giant inside. Let me conclude by quoting what Henry Ford the founder of Ford Automobiles said, The whole secret of a successful life is to find out what ones destiny is , and then do it. Invest in yourself today.
