TGIF Weather Watchers!! Pattern is changing - if this verifies the Western 1/2 of Kansas should see decent moisture next week- lets show you why.... Take a look at the first 2 image- it outlines the Cold front and associated High pressure that is keeping the low level moisture to our South. The last image shows the Strong High anchored over the Eastern half of the country ( its not going to move much next week at all )which allows an area of Lower pressure in Eastern CO to fetch moisture from the Gulf. The Eastern portions of the State will be under High pressure while Western parts Low pressure- this causes good lift and instability so chances of rain look good and are supported by upper level dynamics. We can tell the seasons are changing as the jet is strengthening and becoming much stronger. We will show you what we are talking about in a post this afternoon. Have questions- let us know... PS- Still need a few Weather Watchers for areas of WESTERN KS... If you are a weather enthusiast and use a smartphone you could join our group of volunteers that will be providing live updates from their parts of the State during Winter Storms and Severe Weather events next Spring. We have several new Weather Watcher moderators and will introduce them to you and the areas they will be covering once we fill a few more areas. Have a GREAT day!!
