THANK YOUR SKIN THIS THOUGHTFUL THURSDAY! There is something so exciting about a change in season. As the seasons change, our skincare routine must change with it, Right? The skin, like everything else in life, evolves through the four distinct seasons. The change of season will notably always affect our skin. While summer air is more humid and moisture-rich, the cold, dry air in autumn and winter leaves our skin dehydrated, flaky and rough. One important factor to keep in mind is that hydration is the key to clear, beautiful skin for all skin types. Even if you have an oilier complexion, the colder months of autumn and winter wreak havoc on the skin, drying it out and stripping it of its natural moisture. This should be the basis of your skincare regimen for autumn. The trick is to not become drier than you already are which can lead to flaky skin and peeling. Think about what you are washing your face with. Do not use hot water as this will dry and irritate skin more, in addition to causing redness. Invest in a hydrating and soothing cleanser. That is where Sundari or Ytsara come in. Apart from benefiting your skin immensely, these products use 100% natural products that are not tested on animals which are the secret. Nourishing natural oils from plants, flowers, seeds and nuts moisturize, replenish and provide your skin with a protective mantel that helps it glow throughout the colder months that lie ahead. Combination skin can be the hardest to treat as you never know how it may react. Our products that use 100% natural ingredients will not aggravate skin. Breakouts can be difficult to deal with during the colder months. Your skin is oily, you then breakout and have to clear it up, which usually involves some sort of drying side effect leaving your skin dehydrated. Exfoliators work well for oily/acne-prone skin but our Kapha / oily range from Sundari is the magic needed to balance ones skin. In general, everything you do will affect your skin. Regular facials prepare the skin for the change of season and provide the perfect basis for healthy skin. I recommend that my all clients get a facial when summer ends to deeply cleanse their skin and revitalize it through massage. A healthy diet consisting of vitamin-rich winter fruits, combined with hydration (lots of herbal teas and water) and regular exercise will also help your skin stay radiant and beautiful. Remember that your skin is a reflection of your inner self—so grant yourself some downtime if you need it, get enough sleep and try not to stress too much and schedule your “Pamper Day” with us. Your skin will thank you!
