America has always produced such men, and today they are still involved, in keeping the enemy from our doors, though the problems seem never solved. So when you meet one face to face, dont compromise on a great big smile. And tell him that you really know, Hes walking the extra mile ~ Vince Speranza 101st Airborne Division WWII Vincent Speranza, like my father, was a 101st Airborne paratrooper veteran from WWII. Vince wrote this poem on the plane coming home from the 40th annual D-Day remembrance in Conneaut, Ohio in August, 2014. It made his heart sing, after so many people who were perfect strangers, greeted him with such big smiles and appreciation for his service to our country.
