THE AMOS APPEAL.... OK....most of you will know Amos from his story last week....The old emaciated boy who lay for 3 days on the edge of a field with a broken leg.Amos came to Heathlawn last week with a temporary cast ....We pleaded for a foster home and our prayers were answered by Trix....She collected Amos grom us on Wednesday and as Trix lives in Co Clare we decided it would be best if Amos went to her vet in Ennis as it was closer to home and convienient. After an xray yesterday in Ennnis it revealed that Amoss leg was a lot worse than originally thought....He had a clear break but it had splintered also....his only hope was to have pins inserted...for that he would have to go to an Orthapeditic Surgeon. So we arranged for Amos to go straight to Limerick where he was seen Wed eve by vet.Surgery for Amos was scheduled for Thur morning.Always a risk with older dogs and in reality Amos had little body weight and strength but his leg had to be either fixed asap or risk amputation as the bones would start fusing wrongly and his leg would be useless. Pre tests were ran on Amos to make sure his heart was strong enough to withstand his op. Late yesterday afternoon we got the call to say Amos had come through his op and the vets were happy with the way it had gone. All Amos needed now was his foster mum ...his place by the fire and some peace and love.We are happy to report that Amos is NOW eventually at home with his foster mum... tired but comfortable....eating chicken and snoozing. But now we need your help....we are appealing for help towards Amoss bill.....His bill for his op was €750.......and its money we are stretched to find being honest....our funds are very low right now, theres no denying...its been a long long year with so many who needed our help....your help.....and we have helped them. And now its Amos who we are looking for help with...he is right now an old and somewhat sad dog...but that should now?hopefully start to change...his leg should now start to heal and we hope he will soon be up and mobile...So please...can you help us...whatever your donation...it will go straight off Amoss bill and his further aftercare....lets give this boy his best christmas present ever......a future now...Thank you to those who have already donated...we really do appreciate it so much......
